On Life and some GoT

First of, let me warn you that this post might contain different topics as I've got too many things stored in my mind right now. It might even contain spoilers from the last Game of Thrones season as I've been a fan of the show ever since it started. So I might talk about it here as well so I'm warning you. If you don't want spoilers... stay away now. :)

Before I dive further into GoT, some life updates first... so I just turned a year older last month and ever since my post last June, I've done quite a few things. It was my first time to receive a commission to make an amigurumi (crochet doll) bear which will be used as props for a baby photography business. Since I've never done this before, it took me a long time to create my own pattern. Fortunately, I made a few adjustments from a previous pattern I made (bunny pattern) so that made it a bit easier.

I, my friends Nanz and Tin also went to Divisoria last month to buy some craft materials (for me at least). The two of them bought more stuffs though. They bought LOTS of stationary items since we're kinda obsessed with them right now. LOL I on the other hand only bought 2 (a notebook for my niece and a planner for me) since most of my money went to the crochet yarns  because I need to stock up for future projects.

After that wonderful experience (not really haha because it's really humid that day), we watched Finding Dory because hello childhood! We've been waiting for this for a long time! I did enjoy the movie except that this kid sitting beside me is too noisy and his shoes is like blinking lights whenever he walks (he does a lot of walking btw), and his mother didn't even know how to discipline her child. I love kids but this kid needs some disciplining...

I also had a post-birthday lunch with my besties Roxy and Nanz in this cool art restaurant one jeepney ride from where I live.

with  Roxy

and Nanz

The place was introduced to us by Roxy who lives closer to this amazing place. I brought another friend here prior to this meet up who also loves art. I'm thinking of selling my artworks on this place too but not this year though. I want to hone my artistic skills first haha. If I have time, I'll make a separate post about this place too.

Now, let's shift to the fandom that I belong... Game of Thrones! the last 2 episodes, Battle of Bastards and Winds of Winter were AWESOME! The cast and crew did an amazing job and you can definitely see just by watching it, the effort they did to make these episodes look like they were made for movie. My favorite part of the 9th episode was the battle scene (because that's what I love best in a fantasy/war show...hello LOTR). The scene when Jon Snow almost drowned from the dead bodies blocking him literally made me worry as we don't want him to be dead again right?

That LOTR moment as well... oh my! Remember the gandalf saves the day moment from LOTR Two Towers? It was the same feeling when those soldiers from House Arryn riding horses came galloping over Bolton's forces. As for the last episode of season 6... my favorite scene there was when Daenerys appointed Tyrion as the Hand of the Queen. It was such a great moment and I couldn't be happier for him. He deserves to be wanted and not be cast aside like what his own family did to him.

Whew! This post is getting long already. So there you go, my whole update for the past weeks. I'm not sure what to do after this. Maybe I'll do some crochet work and study patterns, maybe I'll draw or do some hand lettering exercises. I don't know. I'll figure it out.

Hope you have a wonderful day/night wherever you are! :)

Artworks for sale!

Hello pixies!

Wow! It's been more than two months since my March blog update! What happened? hahaha! I honestly forgot I still have a blog! Hahaha!

So... how are you?

Me? Well I'm gonna be a year older than today tomorrow. Did you get it? Haha. Yes, I'll be celebrating the year I was born tomorrow. It's also the first birthday that my mama is not around which makes this year my saddest birthday ever. But I'm still grateful for another year. Looking forward to more blessings that will come. I'll embrace everything with open arms. :)

Anyway, I'm quite draen to traditional art nowadays and recently I've done about 4 artworks. I'm loving watercolors and letterings so most of them are inspired by those. Here are 2 of my artworks (with watermark of course):

I'm selling these two artworks as digital files on my Etsy store. I couldn't bring myself to sell the original pieces because this is the first time that I fell in love with my art. Promise!

There are also other items on my shop, like a Bunny doll (crochet doll - amigurumi) that I also made myself including the pattern I used.

Anyway, that's about it! I gotta sleep early as I need to wake up early tomorrow to attend a mass.

Cheers!

Looking Forward

There are two events I'm looking forward to... first is the upcoming trip next next weekend. This is a sort of hunting trip (not ghost, not animals) but more on food! hahaha! Yep, sort of a food trip with friends.

Second is the upcoming concert of One Ok Rock! Woot! woot! I seriously want to see a Jpop/Jrock band perform live and this is a big BIG chance for me. So I'm saving up so that I can afford the ticket! I hope this concert will pave way to other Japanese artist to perform here.

Anyhoo, I still have insomnia so I'll probably have blog posts during this time of the day/night? Whatever. I know you'll get what I mean.

Oh, I decided to make some Halloween hats for dolls which I'll be putting up on my store since it's almost Halloween time! I need to upload new items on my Etsy store and I'm squeezing some time for that despite the "sister duties" and other stuffs. I will definitely see to it that I will get back on drawing because I miss it SO much! Too many things I need to do but this time it's all about me. I'm no longer wasting my time for stuffs that I shouldn't have paid attention too much. I'm still doing my part but that's it.

What else... okay, I always find myself laughing or smiling like an idiot whenever I have this chat conversations with  my friends everyday, everynight. We have this group chat where we talk about our day and then later on our topic will shift to Aldub. If you don't know what Aldub is, you have to search it. It was pretty hilarious how we discuss this, like we are in an Anonymous group. Hahaha but seriously, we are solid Eat Bulaga and the concepts they create are truly brilliant. That's the only local show I am watching aside from the news.

Okay, enough about this random stuffs. I gotta iron some clothes first "sister duties" and then I'll continue what I'm reading which is Kite Runner. Ugh I can't finish that book (ebook to be specific) because I'm scared about the fate of one of the characters of the book even though I already know what will happen hahaha. But I always finish a book so I gotta continue reading it. It's a good book and I recommend you read it.

Dream on fairies!

*If you see spelling mistakes just ignore it, I've been typing like a mad woman because there are just too many things I have to say which I wanted to share. *

Here.

Well... I'm back!

A lot of things happened that I can't even remember everything. But I can say that I will need to take a short break from crocheting because that's what I've been doing for the last couple of months in preparation for the two events.

Oh those two events - were awesome! I'm not going to go on further details but I really enjoyed attending and selling my items. It was quite an experience.

Anyway, I'm trying to go back on track despite some disappointments I felt with recent events. I'm going to focus on my most important priorities because I've neglected them as my attention was focused on things that other people neglected before. This time, I think I deserve to step aside, chill and take a break... have a kitkat LOL.

A week of rain, rain and more rain...

Hello pixies! We currently have an awful weather here in the Philippines and so everybody's been trying to stay indoors with the exception of those who still need to go to work. I feel for them because I've been in that position for 5 years when I'm still working in an actual office.

Anyway, the rain's been pouring non-stop (I think I've established that one already) and it's making me lazy! Cold weather is bed weather and it's not a good thing for me at this moment because I need to keep on crocheting. I've been crocheting little amigurumi keychains that I can sell on two upcoming events this August so laziness is a no-no. But this weather just makes me want to curl up on the bed and read my favorite books.

I'm not really sure what the point of this post is but I just want to have a quick."chat" with whoever is reading this. Come to think of it...I'm not even sure if someone will bother to read this. Haha! (what a waste of time huh?)

It's already 11:47 pm here and I need to be up and early tomorrow for Sunday mass so I guess that's it for now. Hopefully I can post something more meaningful on my next update (still depends on my mood though.).

Sprinkling you with positive fairy vibes dust!

Hey It's My Birthday! + Video Diary 1

Yes, it's my birthday today and I just turned 31! Hurray!

I don't know why some people hate getting older. Age is nothing but a number. Every year you gain wisdom and knowledge and that's something to be thankful for!

Anyway, I and my family celebrated my birthday one day earlier because my birthday falls on a Monday. My younger brother has a 9am flight to catch on my actual birthday and a weekday means that most of our family members were either at work or at school. On top of that, my father is also out of the country so it's just me and my mom at home.

Going back from yesterday, we heard the mass at 9am, then had my per-birthday lunch at Hapchan in Harbor Square. It's a simple lunch date with the family. Today however, we woke up early to send my brother off to the airport, head back home to take a nap, then I went out to go to the post to ship an order from last week and bought myself a cake. Yes, I bought myself a cake but that's because my mom told me so and she's the one who paid for it so I'm totally fine with it hahaha. Aside from that, my mom can't travel a lot so I mostly do the shopping and groceries and errands and etc on a typical day.

I would say it was a relaxing birthday for me. I didn't do a lot of household chores today since it's just the two of us here and there's nothing much to do. I'll probably be a busy bee once again this coming days as I need to fix some health-related documents for my mom's eye laser surgery. I don't really like fixing documents as it is not something that I can do smoothly. I just hate paper works but you know... you gotta do what you have to do. I'm fine with online transactions and stuffs but when you have to go to offices, get forms, submit requirements physically... ugh... it's a big effort for me. But yeah, I'll do it because I'm oblige to do it. hahaha. Eventually, I'll accomplish it one way or another.

Here's a short video of how I spent my birthday this year.

Insomnia Diaries

Hello pixies!

I just have this urge to update my blog but doesn't even know how to begin. There's just too many things that I want to talk about but I don't want to bore you with stuffs that you can't relate to especially if you just happen to stumble on my blog.  I can't decide whether to blog about it or not. What can I say, that's how my brain works. I always have this hesitation when it comes to what or what not to blog.

I'm not even sure if someone is indeed reading this but I still care about the stuffs I share here whether someone I know or not reads this. Anyway... I'll just go ahead and say whatever I want to say.

To begin with, it's 12:45 a.m. and I'm still up and wide awake. I seriously believe that I have insomnia and my brain functions really well during these hours (12-5 in the morning). I used to work in a call center and guess what I'm doing at 2:30 in the morning? I'm answering emails, checking data from previous days activities, doing reports and if I'm not lucky, handling escalated calls and dealing with faults and issues with systems. Don't you just love to be in my shoes back then? Hahaha
photo by: Jonas Nilsson Lee (https://stocksnap.io)

My being insomniac now might have something to do with it. My body and mind got used to my daily activities during my call center life. Ever since then, this is how I roll. There are some exemptions though but it takes a lot of effort for me to sleep early if needed to. You know what makes me sleepy? Coffee. I know, I know, it wasn't a typical choice of beverage if you want to sleep. Coffee is something people drink to wake up their senses. Not me though. It makes me sleepy. It has that effect on me. Don't ask me because I don't know why (I should probably google this one later).

But you know what, I am trying to lessen my coffee intake so I no longer drink it at night. What I do now is just read myself to sleep and drink tea. I am obsessed with tea right now but I'll explain that on a separate post including a "tea haul." I think I have a 3-months supply of those stashed in a box. :)

I need to cut this post short so you won't get sick and tired of my stories haha.

Sprinkling you with fairy dust of happy sensations!

Friday Night with the Girls

Hello pixies!

Yesterday was quite a day! We watched our friend Frida and her dad, the master impressionist Willie Nepomuceno perform. It was the repeat performance of their successful show last February titled The Votes of the Philippines. It was an absolute success and we (the audience) truly enjoyed the show. I love how spot on the actors are in mimicking the characters they are portraying.

Before the show though, I feel like Nanz (sister from another parents haha) and I were also in a different show. We were like competing for the Amazing Race haha. It was a good experience though. The bright side of this "walkathon" experience is that we were able to discover things like how quiet people commuting via LRT 2 are compared to those from LRT 1 and MRT 2. I swear I was amazed by how silent it is there. Usually you hear a lot of buzz in a crowded area, but this one, I feel like I'm in this post-apocalyptic world. The only talking people there were me and Nanz.

Anyway, the reason why we were traversing the roads of Quiapo and Recto yesterday was because we were looking for the bus that will bring us to Greenhills. Apparently, the bus terminal was already shut down or to be honest, I don't know what really happened. It just wasn't there anymore.

Plan B took place which is to ride LRT 2. I'm glad that Nanz was with me during this adventure because I will look like a lost puppy in this side of town. As usual the train was also crowded but it's tolerable than the usual trains I rode when I'm still commuting for work. Upon arriving at our destination which is V. Mapa station, we rode the super spacious bus enroute to Greenhills (Music Museum).

It seems that luck took pity on us because we didn't encounter a heavy load of traffic and we arrived early. We were able to eat dinner and soon after Tin (my super cute friend) arrived as well. We were able to relax a bit and do a little chitchats including how excited we are to see the performance live. Riz and her brother arrived just in the nick of time and then the show started.

I'm impressed by how good these people are (the performers from the show) because it is very hard to entertain people. They also need to be 'in character" to make sure that people will be wowed by how believable they are as the personality they are portraying. It is a 3-hour show and that's another pressure. Audience tends to get bored easily especially if they don't get what is happening on the stage. I would say that last night's performance have successfully dodge these obstacles.

Congratulations again to the cast and crew of The Votes of the Philippines!!!

Zoo Trip with friends and hanging out at Harbor Square

Hello pixies!

Last Saturday, I and some of my college friends met up so we can fulfill one of our friend's (Tin) long time dream to visit Manila Zoo. Since I live nearby, visiting the zoo is no longer new to me however sharing this experience with my college pals is another thing.
We are actually a peer group of 9 but this meet is actually a half-meeting (for some part-time gig), half-exploring kind of thing, we decided to just stick with the usual crew...meaning the 4 of us.

It was a hot, sunny afternoon but we never complained about the heat because we have each others company to block that thought. We enjoyed looking at the remaining animals from the zoo and took some photos and short videos.

Above are some of the photos I manage to take using my iphone. I didn't bring my camera with me because I want to carry lightweight items as much as possible in my semi-medium size shoulder bag. Sorry Caspian, no enough space in my bag...

We also have a short break during the whole duration of our exploration so we can hydrate ourselves.

Check out this video I made to sum up the Zoo trip.

Tin's dream is now fulfilled... just look how happy she is here:
Happy Tin :)
After our trip, we walked from the zoo to the place called Harbor Square beside the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). We waited for the sunset and the sun didn't disappoint us. I was there the day before this trip so I'm still high with the "sunset feel good moment" and this time I want to share it with the gang as well.
The view is so breath-taking and it instantly captivated my heart. It signifies another beautiful day spent with lovely people.

Angels' adventure will continue.Watch out for more trips as we are already brewing some out of town trips this coming May.

Sprinkling positive fairy dusts to you reader!
